I first got involved in the art form back in 1980, at the age of nine. I used to hang out with a lot of the older cats from around my neighborhood that were writers. They used to get up all the time and I was so taken by it, that by the time 1985, I made my debut.
Do you work better when giving the freedom to work on pieces when dealing with customers?
It’s better to let your customer tell you what they want since they are paying for custom work, but when it comes to graffiti on walls they usually give me the freedom to get busy.
Where has this talent taking you to?
Graff as taken me to: Washington DC, Boston, New Hampshire, Virginia, Orlando Florida, South Beach FL, San Jose California, Venice Beach California, Hollywood L.A., Madrid Spain, Linares Spain, Sderot Israel, Tel Aviv Israel, Jerusalem Israel, Oslo Norway, Kristiansund Norway, Trondheim Norway, Amsterdam Netherlands, and Iceland.

I love to work with both mediums. You can’t paint all the time, plus working with computers as a graphic designer, I can practice on techniques and ideas on color ways I can use on my next mural.

I use Adobe Photoshop CS6 and Adobe Illustrator CS6 on an everyday basis.
Can you give us a fun fact about each piece that most people wouldn't know?
Every piece I do is always different, Never the same. I keep on developing my style every time I do a piece on a wall, that’s how I keep pushing my letter structure.
If it weren't for your art career where would you be?
I’ll probably be a MF Hustler, you better ask somebody.
Can you break down the name Sue works? Its sounds unique compared to most artist.
My nom-de-plume is SUE (a.k.a. SUEWORKS). SUE is an Acronym for “STYLES UNDER EVOLUTION”. I came up with my name back in 1985 while I was at a friend’s cousin’s apartment. We were writing on each other’s black books and I did a really cool space scene. My boy’s cousin saw it and said “Wow! That is awesome. Your style is like style under evolution man!” He was drunk and high at the time so we laughed it off, but what he said always stood out on my mind. I couldn’t write the whole thing as a tag, so I had to shorten it. It was shortened to S.U.E. A 3-letter word that is dope and easy to write up. That’s how I came up with my name.
Which is your favorite piece you've ever done?
Wow that’s a hard one to answer! I think that would be the horse pieces I did in Spain. My team OGT always gets me open when I’m out there.
What artists would you decorate your house with?
Most def: Belin, Chuck Close, Isaac Malakkai, Lust, Hec Won.
